Welcome to my web site.
I'm a writer of prose and poetry in Scots and English - I think of myself as bi-lingual, and recognise different aspects of my personality when I write: restrained and careful in English, gutsy and gallus in Scots.
I've edited a selection of the poetry of Marion Angus, published short stories, essays, articles, poetry and memoirs in magazines, journals, anthologies and on-line. Read comments.
I've written a novel (read more), and had poems exhibited at the National Museum of Scotland and the Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood in London. And now, persuaded of the merits of on-line publishing, I'm trying to work out how to do that.
I've been a traditional story-teller in schools, at festivals and at the Scottish Poetry Library, have taken creative writing classes for adults and children and am an experienced speaker (most recently on Scots language and Marion Angus).
